16.2k LordofLegoFor Pete's sake. *modding, not kidding.9.4 years ago
-
16.2k LordofLegoI'm a little late, but I think kidding is just fine. If someone wants their plane to go fast, they should be able to without fifty engines on it. In the huge replicas people can use modded fuel blocks to add ballast. You can't stop what people post unless you can get the devs to take it down, and since they support modding, good luck. It's not going to "ruin" anything. If multiplayer comes out and everyone is using modded engines in dogfights and you're left in the dust with your stock engine, well, it's you who has ruined it for yourself. If you don't want to use modded engines, don't come and try to make the rest of us stick with stock engines just to make it fair. That's like if a vegetarian tried stopping the sale of meat, but they were only vegetarian because they didn't like how meat tasted.9.4 years ago

109k WalrusAircraft@ElijtheGeat - thanks for the kind words on the props. I'm in the process of embedding small wings inside those props do they can catch air and spin without assistance. I'm having trouble keeping track of requests. Maybe I'll release a "plane" just for requests. On the subject of modded engines and fuel, I never bothered to make them for people since there is so much floating around. If I was to do engines, I would release .5x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x power. Something similar for fuel, and super detachers. I'll only do this if the community demands it.9.5 years ago

14.0k ElijtheGeatFuel tanks no, but I'm perfectly fine with the mods that @WalrusAircraft makes like the amazing props and longer nose cones. Modded engines should only be used by people who know how to mod them( Apple doesn't let me but I would know how to if I we're on a pc or android). Sort of like in real life, it's not cheating when the U.S. makes an engine that still works at 7 times the speed of sound, they(we) know how to do it so let them do it.9.5 years ago

72.5k AuthrosI was meant to say 2 to 3 fuel tanks, not engines on my previous comment!9.5 years ago
-
72.5k AuthrosMy first modded part was a tipped nose cone. At this point there were a few rediculous engines and tanks posted about which I tried and realised I didn't like. Since messing with the files I have realised the potential of modifications and grasped it with both hands. Most of my modifications are situational, positions and rotations and the like for visual looks and to help with replication. I do use performance changing mods too but only in moderation and try to avoid the negative affect of them as best as possible. Rather than one modded engine, I'll use 2 or 3 to better spread the weight, 4 engines at 2x power is better than 2 engines at 4x power. The pros of modification far outweight the cons in my oppinion, and most importantly the reduction in build size because of the modified fuel tank makes it easier to use large aircrafts on mobile devices. I accept the concequences of my actions understanding that with future updates my previous builds may not work very well or at all, but I also know that my previous unmodified builds are already not what they used to be. Someone said games have a lifespan and it's about extending it, but my builds have a lifespan too and eventually no one is going to be using them, they will be looking and trying all the new builds. I suppose that makes it obvious where I stand on the subject. The devs have already expressed their support for modifying so that to me is permission to do your worst! @hypnotoad You're not the only brit!9.5 years ago

4,227 GeebersI personally think mods are situational, if your building a high performance or fast plane, sure but maybe not for a replica that is trying to be 100% true to the game(Or, if you're like me and have no idea how to in the first place).9.5 years ago

38.8k hypnotoad@Viper28 hahaha. I am most certainly not offended, and yes, utterly British. There don't seem to be a great deal of britts on here if I'm honest but that's no worry. I guess I use too many cliché sayings, but that is what I say so I can't change it. Lol. all the best to you........ chap.9.5 years ago
