The ACA Howler is a part of the ACA siren pack from 1979. It was made as a 9/12 port replacement to the ACA Allertor 125. It was created to replace the Allertor because the Allertor had 2 projectors, whereas the Howler had one projector, making maintainence on the Howler much easier. It was later discontinued in 1989 after being passed by the ACA P-10 and P-15, both rated 127, and given the names RM-127. The Howler was rated to be 123dB at 100 feet, making it a quieter siren than competitors like Federal Signal’s Thunderbolt.
