Hello everyone! Today I bring you something I’m actually kinda proud of, a whole new way of destroying naval targets! Are torpedos proving hard to aim? Are your missiles just not hitting right? Oh, they... they are? They hit things just fine, with precision accuracy? Oh. Well uhh... wait a minu-

Introducing a whole new method of attacking naval targets, Waterburst Rockets! These rockets, ASR-35 Auklets, are designed to detonate when they impact with the water’s surface, allowing them to deal damage to targets even if the rocket misses them entirely! As long as they’re caught in the damage radius of the warhead, they’re sure to be taken out with relative ease.

Featuring ShiroNeko’s beautiful A6M2 on floats, these rockets are to be mounted on WWII Era Warplanes. Or alternatively, any aircraft that isn’t too fast and/or agile, as these rockets are particularly unstable at high speeds, typically around 600mph, ± 50-100mph. Not recommended to mount them on a jet fighter such as the Wasp, as that’s what I did initially upon testing. Sometimes, you just need a little less speed.

Here we see an Auk- wait, err... hold on. Wrong kind of Auklet.

Controls:

Not really much to say, other than that these rockets function best when firing them at any altitude between 300-1,000ft, at angles no more than 30°, otherwise they have a chance of not detonating properly, which of course is unwanted. Another tip is to space them out appropriately when firing several in rapid succession, as they can sometimes catch each other in their own blast radius, therefore causing a rather cool, but typically unwanted chain reaction that explodes every rocket too close in proximity to one another, oftentimes before they even hit the water.

Notable Tips:

  • These rockets are not mirror friendly. You can mirror them, and it may appear to work properly, but guaranteed, some of the connections inside the rocket may not make it, and therefore the rocket will not function properly when deployed. It is best to save the rocket as a subassembly, and attach all rockets onto your aircraft of choice manually; put the first rocket on the aircraft where you want it, and then when you attach the second rocket, use the coordinates of the first one to get it on the exact same location, just on the other side of course.

  • The blast radius of these rockets is considerably large, so it’s best to avoid firing them at particularly low altitudes, so you can fly away from the eventual impact-site of the rocket before it hits.

Once again, all credit to the A6M2 goes to ShiroNeko, I’ve only mounted these rockets I made onto their A6M2 for demonstration purposes.

These rockets are free for anyone to use! Of course, give credit when credit is due.

Have Fun!

Yeah idk I kinda just came up with this randomly after watching a video of some guy putting fireworks under ice and exploding them, idk how I got this as a result of watching that though lol

@LittleJerry ah ok, well if you launch them with no velocity and they’re level with the ground, they will kinda just act like torpedos and skim across the surface of the water. They need impact force on the tip of the warhead to detonate!

@Chickendude you could try, but with the supermanueverability, it could be risky.

Can i mount it in my supermanuverability jet with speed of 800 km?

@AWESOMENESS360 hi I was positive for 4 months I just came back to sp I seen you reply on my skyhook it is a working skyhook the balloon sticks to the jet and any other part It needs polishing but I know you can do better and use it to make skyhook cargo plane

If only they also detonators when aircraft are nearby, then they would just be anti everything rockets.

@AuroraPolaris yeah, but compared to modern Anti-Ship Missiles, they’re obsolete.

Actually, these would have been very useful at attacking surfaced submarines as compared to the normal rockets of the day back in WW2. Very nicely done
