Meteor Lander & Rover
********LOAD SOUTH RUNWAY FINAL APPROACH********** built this just for fun >>> WORKING WATER LANDER WITH ROVER INSIDE <<< Credit Wakescar for rover idea. PLEASE ROTATE DOORS TO UPRIGHT POSITION BEFORE FLIGHT. I put them down for photo to reveal lander. >>>OPERATION<<<. -- LANDER --> the lander controls are activated by 1. VTOL control operates brakes ( pull down). Be sure to look at her from above angle -- looks like a spinning fireball!! -- Retro-rockets control with pitch **** dont fire retro-rockets until 1200-1300 feet!!!! Hold until roughly 300 feet then release!!!!!! Will work just make sure you get it right. !!! Be sure to return VTOL control to neutral and then deactivate 1 once landed !!! -- ROVER --> rover is activated by 2. This also activates front door of lander ( VTOL control ^ ). Give the rover a little throttle and she will drive out of lander into water. Up landing gear and activate 3 for rutter ( VTOL control ). Steer with roll ( keep her around 50% will go 100% straight ). Head for land. Be sure to pull up rutter and deploy landing gear when coming ashore. 30% good for on land. 4 activates weapons ( pitch ) and 5 6 shoots missiles ;) >>> PLEASE RATE AND ENJOY <<< >>> SUGGESTIONS WELCOMED <<<

13.5k DethFromAbove@PhilipTarpley wow! Very appreciated!! I did have a pretty messy control layout lol got a little carried away.. I appreciate you giving it the time to figure it out!! Love the update and new possibilities!! Love Simple Rockets as well!!! Perhaps a reachable orbit in the distant future ;) ?9.7 years ago

Dev PhilipTarpleyWow, this is almost an entire game in itself trying to figure out how to land the thing...it was really fun, too. Perhaps could have been a bit easier with a different input mapping (not sure I have any suggestions though)...you have a LOT going on, so I'm not going to fault you for that. The design is really, REALLY awesome, and it is very rewarding once everything finally works as hoped. Thanks for putting so much time into this design, and the game. Kudos!9.7 years ago

32.7k WakescarThis is so... F***n cool dude. Its like an alien.. ..Earth lander! Pretty controlled descent.. I bet you could get one of these to settle safely on land with a little more R&D. Keep it up!9.7 years ago

2,351 Oblivion@DethFromAbove I found a way to get it 99 percent of the time you follow the instructions exactly and it helps to switch your camera to inside the lander because outside the lander just made me mess up trying to do all kinds of stuff to stop it cus you know your instinct is for your plane not to fall out of the sky spinning xd9.7 years ago

13.5k DethFromAbove@ElijtheGeat thanks so much!! The only thing I really liked was the paint.. Want to build a more serious lander next.. Maybe slap Wakescar's Luna Lite Rover inside it9.7 years ago

13.5k DethFromAbove@Thebrendon55c It was like 50 50 for me every time too for a while :[ .. Not my best.. But I got sick of it taking up space so I posted it so I could delete it.. Feel free to improve!!! I'd like to see more multi-functional landers!! Maybe even one that could touch down on land.9.7 years ago
