The VerdAir Griffin is a carrier-capable, twin-engine, single-seat, air superiority fighter and interceptor designed and developed by VerdAir Corporation. It was one of the three proposals selected for the Optimal Fighter Jet Program, but due to its technological complexities which combined with the development of the VerdAir Valkyrie amounting to a more costly project, development for a prototype did not begin until February 1979. It first flew on July 6, 1981 and was officially entered into military service on June 11, 1985.

The design is based off from Fairchild Republic's proposal for the F-X Program with elements incorporated from the F-14 Tomcat and the F-15 Eagle. The Griffin uses advanced avionics and a powerful internal cannon and can be armed as many as twenty-four missiles to achieve its role as a naval interceptor for the Veridisian Navy while simultaneously keeping its qualities as a dedicated air superiority fighter for the Veridisian Air Force. Beginning in the late 2000s, with the integration of Millennium Science School's developed technologies into the military, the VerdAir Griffin performed ground attack missions with the Veridisian Air Force through the use of the Millennium Targeting Pod. Despite being a fast and agile fighter, it never met the same flight characteristics as its predecessor due to its decreasing speed the higher the plane is in the atmosphere which equates to lower agility; it has a maximum flight ceiling of 11,000 m (36,000 ft).

Throughout the Griffin's service, it was unintentionally used for psychological warfare. Numerous air forces that had battled against the Veridisian Air Force feared its fighting capabilities. For this reason, Veridisian pilots referred to it as “the Death Eagle”.

NOTE: When landing the plane, there is a tendency that it while drift to the right of the runway uncontrollably. I have yet to resolve this issue.
