While I still love the agility of my previous FW 190 A-8, it is really on the razor's edge, and at less than full throttle, one can easily lose control. I therefore decided to make another version that is less dangerous to fly. I went for the D-9, which is the high altitude variant of the FW 190. As with the original, my first change was to give it more power. I then gave it a bit more of a forgiving balance and of course a typical paint-job.

As always, please rate, comment, enjoy!

Info:
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 Würger (English: Shrike) is a German single-seat, single-engine fighter aircraft designed by Kurt Tank in the late 1930s and widely used during World War II. Along with its well-known counterpart, the Messerschmitt Bf 109, the Fw 190 became the backbone of the Luftwaffe's Jagdwaffe (Fighter Force).

The Fw 190A series' performance decreased at high altitudes (usually 6,000 m (20,000 ft) and above), which reduced its effectiveness as a high-altitude interceptor, but this problem was mostly rectified in later models, particularly in the Junkers Jumo 213 inline-engine Focke-Wulf Fw 190D series.

@thomadjaf I guess there are three main reasons for the over representation of warbirds: 1) They're mostly small and hence less of a hassle to build and also run fluidly on all systems. 2) They're just cool as they represent the cutting edge of aviation technology in their eras. 3) The limited amount of parts in this game. For instance, I wanted to do a Learjet, but I just couldn't find an angle to get it anywhere near to the original. I also toyed with the idea of old passenger planes, and I might still go there, but that's also very difficult to do. But there are of course other cool things to build. The Cesna mod I did for example is my only mod so far because I just thought that the original was extremely cool. I also really liked that ultra-light craft (sorry, can't remember the user names off the top of my head). For a time, I also did fantasy planes, experimenting with unusual shapes, but currently, I just enjoy doing replicas. Who knows what will come next once that wears off... ;)
