[ Skypark's new Sea Service interceptor, capable of reaching mach 3. ]

[ Description ]

Ace Combat

"A tail-less advanced fighter produced by General Resource that brought a huge leap in fighting capability. It was produced with research data from the high mobility stealth experimental craft. The 3-dimensional vectored thrust nozzles, a General Resource special technology, exhibits maneuverability superior to any Neucom craft. Additionally, in response to various airspeeds, the main wingtips fold automatically to the optimal angle giving the craft high stability."

Skypark

The F-36 Game is the latest aircraft of the Skypark Sea Service, the result of a massive development program following the advent of the Sirens. Designed as a interceptor, it's main objective is the rapidly close in on distant threats and destroy them at long range, before they can get anywhere close to the fleet.

During it's development it would be known as the XFA-36, and would actually be tailless, but both would be charged as it was completed, the designation would change to F-36, being no longer an experimental aircraft, and two vertical stabilizers would be added to give additional stability.

[ Weapons ]

  • Eight Air-to-Air missiles
  • single rotary cannon above the right inlet

[ Controls ]

Standard control layout, weapons bay doors open automatically.

[ Notes ]

I changed the name of the plane as it made no since, when looking at the naming system of the US military, which it appeared to be based off of, X means experimental, F means fighter, and A means Attack(aka ground attack), and then given the arrangement of the letters, where the First letter is the main role, the letter to the left is either some kind of modification to that role, it's development status, or identifying it as something other then a normal airplane, the Ace Combat Game would be, going off it's name, an experimental fighter variant of an attack aircraft. And as it's in-game description shows, it's neither experimental or a variation of a preexisting plane. And I added vertical stabilizers because, while I actually can make 100% tailless planes, they, for lack of a better word, slip through the air, like they're drifting, which I haven't figured out yet how to solve.

I hope I explain the US military naming system correctly, I did actually read up on it, but it's been a while since that. I'd feel like a idiot if I got it wrong, considering it's the basis of my argument.

(Also the XFA has to do with something else, like the ADFX-01/02 and the X-02)

@Dracul0Anderson while you are correct, it’s not always the case, such as the F-117, Yf-22 (notice how it’s not a X plane) YB-49 (once again not a X plane), and while Yf/B tends to stand for prototypes, there are X planes that are just that, such as the X-35 and X-32
