De-12-X
Developed jointly between the WAF and DemoNn Military Systems, the De-12-X was publicly announced as just an upgraded De-12 Heavy Seaplane with jet engines, rather than the fuel-guzzling and inefficient turbo-props that had defined the type. Instead, it was an attempt to create a fighter that would far outclass anything the Yeager Empire could field. This was decided as the WAF came to the conclusion that it could never outnumber the YAC. The plans featured forward-swept wings, a powerful new engine and canards. it boasted impressive speed and manueveribilty. The YAC didn't learn of the aircrafts existence until it was seen in combat. The aircraft was expensive to maintain however, and due to this, only 18 were ever built. They were all assigned to the Elite Deaths Head Sqaudron. The aircraft proved it's superiority, during the 1982 Destroyer War, De-12-X's claimed 58 confirmed kills, while suffering no losses themselves.
