The MAV-21 is a standard AV-21F Vtol fighter that is fitted with the ACFU (Autonomous Combat Flight Unit). The ACFU was designed to operate without a pilot, but can be manned from a remote facility. The MAV-21V is the remote operated variant. It is also equipped with a pulse laser unit.
