1950-1960 Tournament F-100D Super Sabre
This is my submission for YuraCat's 1950-1960 Tournament. The North American F-100D Super Sabre entered service with the U.S. Air Force in 1959 as the world's first supersonic fighter. This is not a historically accurate representation of the Super Sabre--I should have called it the "Simple Sabre", it's sized around the Blasto J50 stock engine; though not 1:1 scale, it has roughly the same performance as the real life F-100, but it turns a little better than the RL airplane...though all the airplanes in this tourney also turn a lot better than in RL! There's minimal XML here, I resized the landing gear to fit the build, as well as the cockpit, which I wanted to fit under the outline of the canopy of the RL aircraft. I also tweaked some part sizes just to follow the outlines of the RL aircraft. Stock engine, stock fuel (not much fuel in this one to keep it light for maneuverability!), stock wings, CG, no drag reduction, stock guns (4x Pontiac M39E Rotary Cannons--20mms in the case of the Super Sabre). Happy hunting and fly safe!

@EngineerOtaku yes, ouch. I thought it was a great idea for a challenge, so I was a bit disappointed that it never actually happened.
@ChiChiWerx Ouch :/
@EngineerOtaku enter what? The 1950-1060 Fighter Tournament? This challenge never happened...the idiot who sponsored this never flew off the airplanes against one another and never decided on a winner. Hosting a challenge is a lot of work, should have known that this guy would have flaked out on it.
Kinda reminds of the Super Sabre I rebuilt recently. :) Been thinking of entering that contest, but I'm not sure what I wanna enter.
@ChiChiWerx Thank you, link me YuraCat profile please, i want follow him
@mikoyanster link you to this?

YYYYYYYOOOOLLLOOOOO
@Tang0five no worries, thanks! 😃👍. I think I’m finally done building F-100s...but I already thought I was done with Huns until I saw this challenge!
Woah, this is not the proverbial turd I was mentioning! This is lovely once again! I was only mentioning the AI’s ability to outfly you (me and my limited abilities that is). I read this back after posting and didn’t want anything negative to be implied!
The AI is pretty fiendish. It seems it CAN polish a turd.....
@YuraCat, here's my submission to your tourney. I hope you will accept it. Stock engine, fuel, wings, drag, CG and guns. I used a bit of XML tweaking for appearance sake, but hewed to the spirit of your rules. I used FineTuner to resize the cockpit to fit under the outlines of the RL canopy...I simply wanted players to be able to see through the gunsight if they wanted to fly it around. I used FineTuner to resize the landing gear to fit the build. I used a bit of XML editing to give the canopy a nice sheen, as well as to disable the mesh on the rotators for the horizontal stab, just didn't want huge, unslightly rotator bodies sticking out the bottom of the airplane. I would have decked it out with a lot of awesome decals, as in my original 1:1 F-100, but that would have required XML for weight and drag and I thought maybe that would be taking it too far. By the way, I still HATE the AI!!!
