Q-5
Introduce
The Qiang-5 (English: Q-5 or A-5, NATO code name: Fantan) is A single-seat, twin-engine supersonic strike aircraft developed by China in the late 1950s on the basis of the J-6 (Soviet mig-19) fighter.
The aircraft is the first strike aircraft designed and manufactured by China Aviation Industry Corporation Hongdu Aviation Industry Group (formerly Nanchang Aircraft Factory). The aircraft began development in 1958, the first flight in June 1965, the end of the same year through the preliminary design finalized. There are many variants of the aircraft. The Qiang-5 series has been in production since 1968, with the last aircraft delivered on October 25, 2012.
Qiang-5 series of various types of aircraft are widely equipped with the Chinese air force and naval aviation, and have become one of the main combat models of China's land attack. The Qiang-5 was awarded the National Science and Technology Progress Prize in 1985 and was also the first combat aircraft exported by China
The Qiang-5 fuselage has an internal weapons bay about 4 meters long, which can carry two 250 or 500 kg aerial bombs. Two weapons pylons under the belly of the aircraft can also carry 250 or 500 kilograms of bombs. There are two external pylons under the wings.
