Curtiss XP-71

30.0k Dumpworks  7.2 years ago

This aircraft was designed as a long-range heavy escort fighter, though 2 prototypes were ordered only a wooden-mockup was created, though if it was built to completion it would have been the biggest fighter aircraft of the war in-fact it would have been larger than the B-25 Mitchell Medium Bomber it was stopped becuase the engines it used the Pratt & Whitney R-4360-13 radials were having problems but also on top of that Curtiss would struggle to get any engines becuase the R-4360 engines were also going to B-29 SuperFortess and F2G Coursair
