F89 Scorpion
Northrop F-89 Scorpion
The Northrop F-89 Scorpion is an all-weather, twin-engined interceptor aircraft designed and produced by the American aircraft manufacturer Northrop Corporation. Introduced in September 1950 (74 years ago) - It was the first jet-powered aircraft to be designed for the interceptor role from the outset to enter service, as well as the first combat aircraft to be armed with air-to-air nuclear weapons in the form of the unguided Genie rocket. The name Scorpion came from the aircraft's elevated tail unit and high-mounted horizontal stabilizer, which kept it clear of the engine exhaust.

About this build
"OMG" - Optimized for Mobile Gaming
Speed is mostly stuck around the real plane at 645 mph (1,038 km/h, 560 kn) as well as the armaments: unguided Rockets and 2 canons.
This is a super stable plane to fly and land as well. Very good for ground attacks. As it is a 1950s-era design, (much older than F86) I did not include any guided missiles. However, some were applied later before retiring in the 1970s.
Armament:
2x 20mm canons
2 Rocket Pods (28 Unguided Rockets)
Handling
AG-1 for engine start
Landing speed - 135 mph

@WinsWings YEAAAAAAAAA OMG THIS IS ART! THANK THANK YOU THANK YOU!
:)))))))
Someone ask me to build this last week, err who is that?
The Scorpion!
A rare sight, but a welcome surprise. SP doesn't have enough F-89s tbh, I've actually been planning on making one of my own lol
@WinsWings I posted it! Sorry it took forever.
@Thatrando Yes, do it and post it as a successor, so that everyone could enjoy your update.
@Thatrando @winswings this means you could just use this, and put the rockets in the pods…. Wait.. I could do that! Nevermind.
@WinsWings yes, but the f-89D variant had 104 unguided proximity rockets. (Mighty mouses) this meaning…. No gun. You could make it an interceptor.
@Thatrando current one had unguided rockets, total of 28 in two rocket pods
@WinsWings yes. I think I’d be hard, but you could pull it off.
@Thatrando Did you mean unguided rockets?
Can you make the one with proxy rockets?
@Erc90F4RU i would say, build whatever makes you happy
If I come back, should I try build F-89?
@WinsWings
@extraordinaryman Thanks, I usually build under 300 parts since I have not much time and can't concentrate too long on single project. Everything has to finish within 2-3 days, unless that project never finish
Excellent work with minimal parts. When I first saw it, I thought it would need at least 300 parts.
Plisss ourangan😔
@TurtlePants I see, glad to meet another nerd Lol
The picture of it from the side is the one outside of EAA in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. I hate that I’m that much of a nerd to know that but whatever. Pretty good recreation.
I have to take rest-
And build something 😭
@Trainzo thanks
Very nice plane .
@Christiant2 I am glad that you like it
I'm gonna Add FEAR MIGHTY MOUSE ROCKETS!
scorpiong 🦂
I'm am actually happy.
