C-10 Avvoltoio

2.8 years ago
This craft was built to test weather or not a propeller powered aircraft could breach the sound barrier. The tests concluded that this would be impossible due to the immense drag created by the blades when nearing super-sonic speeds. Though a failure in terms of its original purpose, the C-10 Avvoltoio was and is still one of the fastest propeller powered aircraft in the world with its jaw dropping top speed of 714 MPH at an altitude of 15000ft. It is used commercially for recreational purposes and occasionally as a low cost, high speed surveillance craft by military’s across the globe.
