VTOL and Trim controls left and right tracks, respectively. Press (1) to activate main turret, Press (2) to activate cupola, and Press (3) to operate hatches. The PDI Ardent M6 MBT is a vehicle designed to provide a reasonably cheap, reliable and adaptable main battle tank for low-budget militaries. It's three-man crew (commander, gunner, and driver) is equipped with the latest targeting systems, and the commander is afforded relatively advanced technology. The frontal armor is equivalent to the Victoria's, although the sides and rear are much thinner. New composities and layering allowed the Ardent M6 to have similar levels of frontal protection. . It can be equipped with a variety of tank cannon, and can be fitted with 90mm railgun, 105mm coilgun, or the 120mm coilgun. Export customers have fitted a variety of cannon, with success. Despite its intention for export, the Pilotmario Marine Corps have procured these vehicles in light of frighteningly high losses among Avenger tanks, and the Army's unwillingness to allow the Marines to operate Victoria tanks.

Neat. But this is quite old, you see. I've moved on to more complex systems. @CDRxavier

This kind of drive train (left & right independent tracks) also came up in my idea, but they are kind of cumbersome and difficult to drive if you want to go and shoot (using some steering wheels-wheels on a track that was control to push or pull in order to turn) is my next thought. But then you cannot turn on a hill. Then comes the gyro. IDK. Any ideas?

@Pilotmario Excellent. Some private oil companies will be sending over ship loads of oil within a few days. If you need it.

@Pilotmario Understood. I will take the M6A1. I will produce them in my own factories and will pay you $3.1 billion.
I am available to supply your forces with oil and fuel. I just don't have a good enough navy to protect the shipping lanes.

@Thej611 Victoria is more expensive due to its superior armor. Even though it was initially planned to replace the Victoria with the cheaper Ardent, the Victoria has proven itself superior to the Ardent in urban combat operations, where its thicker overall armor allowed it to withstand hits which would have otherwise knocked out an Ardent. It was during the Concordian Liberation Campaign where Pilotmario Army Victoria M5A5 and Ardent M6A2.

The M5A5 Victoria proved to be the preferred machine of choice, as its more advanced composite armor proved resilient to even friendly 120mm coilgun rounds during cases of friendly fire. It was also when they encountered Panther III, equipped with the new Rheinmetall 128mm railgun.

This railgun can penetrate the the M6A2 turret at ranges of 2,500m, where the same gun required the Panther III to close to the distance of 1,000m against a Victoria. Both machines, armed with the 120mm Coilgun M5, could knock out Panther III at ranges of 2,500.

Against the 88mm coilgun mounted to older Panther III, it could not penetrate the frontal armor of both machines. While it could penetrate the M6A2 side armor at ranges in excess of 3,000m, it could only do so against the Victoria at ranges of 500m.

Most crews preferred the M5 due to its superior armor. In one instance, when Pilotmario Army forces were pushed back by Teuton and Vandarian counter-attacks, an M5A5 nicknamed "Firefly" was attempting to retreat when indirect fire destroyed its track. Rather than abandon the machine, the crew volunteered to cover the retreat of their comrades with the tank's weapons. Pilotmario forces were pushed back and were only able to reach the tank's position several days later.

As it turned out, it proved instrumental in stopping the Vandarian Army advance. The tank singlehandedly held off the 11th Vandarian Army for an entire day before it was ultimately destroyed by Throths. The crew was buried with full honors. Based on this performance, it was decided to halt Army orders of the M6, diverting them to the Pilotmario Marine Corps.

@Pilotmario Alright. Would it be any cheaper to produce the Victoria since it is being retired? Or is it too outdated to be of any use?

@Pilotmario I would like to obtain the rights to build the M6 within the Newhallian Federation. How much will that cost me? I need to start bolstering my army before sending you all of my support.

@PINK While I cannot reveal the armor composition of Pilotmario Army Victoria due to concerns from Army, I can give figures for the Ardent M6, as it was designed as an export vehicle and its armor was never classified.

The Ardent M6's turret is made from eight layers of graphene-plastic armor-steel laminate separated by an air gap, in order to achieve a similar level of protection to the Victoria M5A4. The glacis plate is made from five layers of the same laminate, given the much greater thickness of the front glacis. The lower plate is made up of two layers of this laminate, and the connecting joint is made up of 8 layers of this laminate. The turret sides and rear are afforded six layers of this laminate. Two layers of this laminate are used on the side and rear hull armor with the same spacing. RHA is used for top and belly armor.

The laminate which makes up the majority of the armor is 150mm of plastic armor backed by 50mm of graphene sandwiched between two layers of 100mm steel. The gap between these armor plates at its smallest is 150mm. Individually, each plate provides 400mm RHAe against APFSDS and 1200mm of RHAe against HEAT ammunition. Sloping increases the effective armor considerably, a value that can be obtained with simple trigonometric calculations.

We are planning on phasing out the Victoria due to the lower cost of the Ardent M6 by attrition.
