The Aérospatiale-BAC Concorde 101/102, shortly Concorde (French for harmony, unity, concord English), was the first supersonic passenger aircraft in scheduled air services for passengers, which was operated from 1976 to 2003. The flight time on their most important routes across the Atlantic between Paris and London and New York was about 3 to 3.5 hours about half compared to modern subs sound aircraft, their altitude was up to 18,000 m (60,000 ft). The operators were from commissioning to last British Airways and Air France. The Concorde was co-developed by the French and British aviation industry on the basis of an intergovernmental agreement from 29 November 1962 and reached maximally Mach 2.23 (2.405 km / h). It received in the Soviet Union with the Soviet Tupolev Tu-144 a competitive pattern. The cell was Aérospatiale (now Airbus) and the British Aircraft Corporation (now BAE Systems) designed and built the engines Olympus 593 Rolls-Royce (Bristol Siddeley) and SNECMA.
