Me 262 P.1100 Gerfalke
HISTORY
Not a replica; this plane was never actually built, and never went beyond a desription and a few sketches by Messerschmitt.
In its “sturmvogel” guise, the Me 262 was used as a light bomber, carrying two 500 kg bombs. Two prototypes were built with a glass nose for the bombardier (the Me 262 A-2a/U2) but that didn’t really change the fact that the Me 262 was basically a fighter, not a bomber.
Messerschmitt’s P.1100 proposal had a much deeper fuselage featuring a real bomb bay to eliminate the drag of the external bombs, a glass nose for the bombardier, and the cockpit moved well forward to improve the Me 262’s otherwise restricted view. The plane retained the standard Me 262’s wings, engines, tail, undercarriage and other main technical features. The concept was discarded by the RLM, since it was judged likely to be underpowered.
Nevertheless, I built one.
ARMAMENT
The Me 262 P.1100 has two internal bomb bays, and can carry up to 2000 kg of bombs -although this build has “only” two PC500 bombs.
Since the fun would be over rather quickly with only two bombs, I also added a Rheinmetall-Borsig 88 mm 10-round, recoilless cannon (the so-called “DuKa 88”). After its bomb load is dropped, the plane is light enough to be used as a fairly decent attacker. Note: I got the idea for the cannon’s shell case ejection from SnoWFLakE0s -so thanks!!
Oh, by the way: the ugly thing on the plane’s nose is a fairly accurate rendering of a FuG 200 “Hohentwiel” low-UHF radar, intended to pick up ground targets. It’s the only excuse I could think of for using advanced targeting on bomb runs ;)
FLYING
The Germans were right… it’s underpowered on takeoff, even with only a 1000 kg bomb load. So I added 4 Schmidding SG34 rockets to help it up in the air.
To take off, give it some flaps and start rolling full throttle; around 150 km/h hit AG1 to ignite the rockets, which will give you enough extra boost for takeoff and the initial climb. Once the rockets are spent, dump the excess weight & drag by hitting AG2.
There’s not much to say about the plane’s flight behavior; fully loaded, it flies like a loaded bomber… not very amusing. After dropping the bombs, it becomes a bit more responsive but it’s never as nimble as its Me 262 fighter cousins. Shouldn’t be a problem to fly or land.
CONTROLS
AG1 : activate RATO rockets
AG2 : drop RATO rockets
AG3 : open bomb bays
AG4 : toggle nose wheel steering lock
AG5 : lights
VTOL down : flaps & slats
Trim : elevator trim
Have fun…

you can use another FT code on the wheels hinge to delay extending so that the doors open first then LGs come down.
same for the bomb bay.

Once again. Lookin the best Everr
What a heccin' c h o n k e r
I think you should cut out some of the white effects on these pictures. It makes the plane look less sharp
ahha! This is probably what I was waiting for! great job!
