The last standard fighter, first appeared in Raiden Fighters Jet, the Ixion.

The XTF program is part of a top secret project to research the technologies found in the alien crafts - the Raiden MK II and the Judge Spear. The Ixion is the product of many years of studying fighter schematics stashed inside the computer of those machines. Due to the incredibly advanced technology involved and high cost, only two Ixions are produced. Only experienced pilots, who can pass the extremely demanding simulator battles with a high grade, are offered the prestige to fly the Ixion.

This is like a 4th generation fighter existing in a world where everyone else still mostly use piston powered aircraft. Then again, the technology level in Raiden Fighters is never consistent. The only constant is that everything is powered by how cool it looks. But, it's that the thing that motivated me. When I first got SimplePlanes, I thought, wouldn't it be cool to replicate the playable machines from my favorite shmup series? And so, I did, and I thought I'd share my work too. Anyways, I hope that you'll enjoy what I've made.
