THIME Blimp Experiment 1

21.1k LieutenantSOT  3.8 years ago

A wingless test for a blimp concept carried out by the THIME Research Division. Never entered mass production due to the VERY unstable platform. Later variants had gyros, but those too served nothing but a concept.

Controls:

AG1=Parachutes
Collective (VTOL)=Propeller angle/ Main propeller speed

I hope y'all enjoy? XD

This thing was a quick build. If I get to it, I may make a MUCH better version later

    @Falkenwut oh, my bad! I forgot about the fuel limitations, I was thinking in gallons...
    And yeah, agreed lol. This thing is really hard to control, but thank you!

    @R2d2hunter VTOL thrusters are allowed in the challenge. It's pretty tricky because they use up fuel.

    Very interesting design! I have manually reduced the fuel to 2000L in order to keep the vehicle within the Challenge's rules. Flying this is a challenge in its own right! haha xD.

    I have noted and scored your blimp. I will release the score when the deadline has passed.

    It says that jets are the only thing we can use for stability (besides airbrakes)

    @R2d2hunter we can. Someone else's made it in even though it had them

    I don’t think we can use the VTOL thruster node things in our builds for stability.
