After the amazing performance of the prototype there was an instant order to mass produce the aircraft, as a result it was officially renamed to V-D.12A-1.
As the first variant straight out of its prototype phase there were some quick militarization upgrades required, as a result pilots on the field were first to discover some of its quirks.
Despite the unusualties the aircraft hsd at times it was instantly liked by anyone that flew it and zete made quick progress in regaining full air superiority over its cities, many pilots would claim the title of "ACE" while flying this aircraft.
In 1943 however volnaar came with an even more improved and refined version of the V-D.12, this one was designated as the V-F.12B-1 variant, seen as a further upgrade after the minor revisions done before which ended with the V-D.12A-20
