GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Amfibus is an amphibious bus which was considered to be a replacement for the Renfew ferry across the River Clyde. when SPT ceased to operate the ferry on 31 March, 2010, one option for replacement was the Amfibus, capable of both driving on the road, and sailing across the river.

TRIALS:
The Amfibus had previously been trialled by the Splashtours in Rotterdam Harbour where it successfully coped with wash from tugs and cargo ships. Trials in the Clyde took place on 8 and 9 February 2010. It was not without problems, as one of the bus' airbags worked loose. The Amfibus were not selected to continue the service.

However, in July 2011, a similar vehicle started a cruise service running directly from Schiphol airport to the Amsterdam canals. The contract to run the Renfew ferry was awarded to Silvers Marine of Rosneath who took over the running of the ferry from 1st April 2010 using fast boats. The Amphibious is based on a Volvo Chassis made by Dutch Amphibious Transport Vehicles in Nijmegen, Netherlands. Each Amfibus costs 700,000 pounds.

PROPULSION:
Propulsion of the Amfibus is by water jets. The Amfibus runs on a Volvo DH12E 6 Cylinder engine, and is capable of 60 mp/h on land, and 6.5 knots in the water.

This specific livery was used BEFORE Splashtours Rotterdam Bus tours were ever in service.

    KNOWN ISSUES
    -LEFT TAIL LIGHT HAS A DIFFERENT COLOR
    -LITERALLY MISSPELLED PASSAGIERS (sorry about that)
    -BUS CONTINUES TO TURN ON A LITTLE AMOUNT AFTER TURNING IT USING YAW (I don't know the fix, pls help me 😭🙏)

    I COULD FIX THESE PROBLEMS, BUT I DONT THINK THE FIXED VERSION WOULD GET AS POPULAR AS THIS ONE. (dw guys I'll still release, very easy fixes)
