Douglas SBD-5 Dauntless
100% Historically EXACT replica of the Douglas SBD-5 Dauntless, a WW2 American naval dive bomber manufactured by Douglas Aircraft from 1940 to 1944.
See instructions below!
The SBD (Scout Bomber Douglas) was the US Navy's main scout plane and dive bomber until the end of 1944, is famous as the bomber that delivers the fatal blows to the Japanese carriers at the Battle of Midway.
It Was an excellent dive bomber, with long range, good handling, maneuverability, heavy bomb load and very hard to take down.
This one is painted with the CV-16 USS Lexington schemes. This was EXACTLY the same plane that took part on the Operation Galvanic and Kourbash at the Gilbert and Marshall Islands that includes Tarawa and Makin.
Enjoy this awesome plane!!

Very nice!
My favorite WW2 Airplane!
@RASEN1914 like it is an understatement I love it.
I agree. Can you check out my dauntless@RASEN1914
@CRJ900Pilot I know. The rear canopy is hard to recreate and the US Navy bomb that carries the SBD with it's max. load can't be replicated in the game, at least a working version... i preffer to use the 500lb game bomb than use a dummy bomb.
@GINGER01 Thanks mate!! I'm glad you like it :P
More like 98% accurate. The real dauntless did not have a center bomb that large and that shape. Also the rear of the canopy( where the rear gunner is) was open. Not a finished canopy. If you think I am wrong, find a picture to prove it. But anyway, sweet plane
I'M SO EXCITED RIGHT NOW. THIS IS SO AMAZING. I was so happy to see this. This is my all time favorite dive bomber. Well done. It looks amazing. Nice detail. Couldn't ask for a better replica.
