Auto Credit Based on Turdy1's Curtiss F9C-2 Sparrowhawk
The first in Grumman's long line of outstanding fighters was the FF, known to aircrews as the Fifi. When asked by the US Navy to fit their unique retractable landing gear to a Vought observation aircraft, Grumman responded by developing a two-seat fighter. It outclassed all Navy fighters in service at that point, resulting in a modest production run. Two variants would be developed: the FF-2 trainer, and the SF-1 scout.
This particular aircraft is in the colors of the squadron leader of VF-5B "Red Rippers" as of 1934, but the colors are available to paint the aircraft in whatever color you'd prefer.
