P1A2
Press 2 to turn on prop.
Alternate WW2 era airplane. This is a super fast prop plane with good manuverability, and average payload. This plane was meant to be a fighter/bomber interceptor, even with decreased speed and manuverability at high altitudes. Although this thought to be one of the greatest planes of its time, it comes with a cost. This plane has to be either launched from a rocket on the ground, or air launched from a bomber. This plane is also very small and has a problem with airflow, I do not reccomend using the rudder in fast quick takes or using it to get a good shot. Extensively using the rudder can cause lethal spins. Later variants were equipped with a parachute to help with spins and landings, as pilots were forced to crash land on the runway, in the water, and some bailed over the airfeild.
The P1A2 was the most successful of the P1 series, showing a faster more agile engine, and more controll over the aircraft. Although the P1A1 had extra weaponry on the belly of the aircraft, it increased drag a lot and was not worth the extra firepower. This was a major upgrade taking it off, making it easier for ground and air launched P1's.
I will add air and ground launchers soon enough.
