North American XF3J Draco
yea I know it's another avenger, so what?
history
The North American XF3J Draco, designed In conjunction with the grumman aircraft company, to take the existing Grumman TBF Avenger and upgrading it with an all new jet engine, as well as a slightly better prop.
Development
The development started with an all new navy request to create a high speed naval aircraft, and you can check out all of the requirements here. The North American company wanted to try and improve an already existing aircraft, add a jet, and help to make it more powerful, and with the agreence of Grumman, they set about improving the TBF Avenger.
operational history
The project, code named draco, was foreseen as a success, and with about 20 examples produced, it was given into hard military trials. Most of the information has been top secret (haven't gotten the review from SOT) so when it happens it will be pinned in comments, once the navy wants to declassify it.

2x 150lbs bombs
2x 250lbs bombs
And Upto
(not on aircraft)
2x 100 gallon tanks
12x 7in high speed rockets, 6 on each wing
2x 500lbs bombs on outer wings
2x Mk-1-AL-20, 20mm cannon pods, with upto 100 rounds of ammunition for both
controls
Normal flight controls
VTOL DOWN- flaps (very powerful)
Ag1- activate engine (on deactivation you'll notice it takes awhile to come back up, its delayed so that if your putting the jet away while it was full power it has time to get rid of the exhaust, so your not bringing it into the aircraft)
Ag2- activate prop engine/close canopy
Ag3- levels plane and activates rear gun (disables pitch and roll, flaps, trim, and yaw still work)
Ag4- open bomb bay, arm bombs
Ag5- fold wings
Ag6- tail hook
Ag7- parking brake
Ag8- nose wheel (on by default, recomend to disable for takeoff)
Basic landing and takeoff instructions (land)
Takeoff
1. Activate ag1 to get the jet down, beneficial for takeoff, and it may be wise to turn on ag2 (you can add throttle if your ready, but I would recommend waiting til the engine is warmed up, just because it looks cooler) and make sure flaps and trim are full
2. Add throttle full and wait til your at takeoff speed, I recommend disabling the nose wheel, as it may get a tad squirrelly on takeoff, Yaw is needed to keep it straight
3. Once your off the ground bring up gear
Landing
1. Set throttle to around 30% once your about 2 miles from the airport, make sure your at a good height preferably around 500-1000ft above the runway, depending on how hard you want the landing, may be wise to drop gear as well
2. Add trim and flaps when needed, and once about a mile out, drop throttle to around 20%, continue to add trim and flaps as needed
3. Once over the runway drop throttle and go about half on the brakes, and slowly put more in as it slows down
4. Fold wings if you want, drop the jet if you want, and slowly taxi
basic landing and takeoff instructions (carrier)
takeoff
1. Same as on land, but you can use the catapult if you would like, and I recommend that
landing
1. Same as on land, but make sure that the tail hook is down
2. Once about a mile from the carrier make sure your speed is above 190mph, or you wont have enough speed to hit the cables
3. Once your about to hit the cables, cut throttle, and make sure you hit a cable, if you dont full power and go around
4. Once your on the carrier, drop the jet if you want, fold the wings if you want, make sure you got your nose wheel and start taxing, once your where you want put the parking brake on and hang out on the carrier

BUILDERS NOTE: this one is for my buddy lieutenantSOT's Naval Spec Challenge, and it is one of the most fun challenges I have done, I loved making this guy, and I hope you like how it came out as much as I did. The one think I hate is how i ended the cockpit at the rear gunner position, I had no idea how to make it look better so it just going to stay like that. Hope you like it!

Alright, matey, this aircraft performs pretty well! Take off is smooth, the jet engine and prop engine are really nice (HOW DID YOU DO THAT WITH THE PROP?)
The weapons are pretty good, nice damage, and I think it could fare well in a Dogfight. The internal bombs bay makes for a really unique design, and it seems nice. The only downside is that, at least in real life, there is so much empty space on the inside, this aircraft would likely crunch on landing on an aircraft carrier. But those landings are pretty nice in the game. A good all-around mixed-propulsion naval fighter. I will put this in the tournament! Good luck, m8
@LieutenantSOT lol your good buddy! Yea there is some empty space on the inside but your not supposed to see that lol. And what did I say about the smooth maneuvering, it's so freaking smoooottthhhhhhh.
Sorry, that was delayed lol
Awesome! I will test it in a minute. The first entry!
@EternalDarkness thank you
@PapaWii sure.
@eternaldarkness sorry to bother you but can you make this a successor to this challenge please?
@EnzoDiazUnofficial you were the only requested tag
