Jesse Brown's Chance Vought F4U-4 Corsair
Because I failed to add it on the previous version of this post, a bit of history on this aircraft:
Jesse Brown is considered to be the first African American aviator in the U.S. Navy.
He served from 1946-1950 and participated in the Korean War, earning the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Purple Heart for his service.
During the battle of Chosin Reservoir, his Corsair began to leak oil and eventually crash landed into a remote mountain top. Thomas Hudner intentionally crashed his Corsair nearby in an attempt to rescue Jesse from the wreckage.
Despite his rescue attempt, Tom was unable to save him as he was pinned into his Corsair and the fire couldn't be stopped in time for a rescue.
Jesse Brown's last words were to Tom Hudner and quoted to be: "Tell Daisy I love her"
In 2022 a movie called "Devotion" was released about his life in the Korean War leading up to his death
Still couldn't find enough information to determine if his actual plane number was 211 or 203, I went with 203 because I found more references on that livery than the 211 livery
Updated version of the old one
Fixed paint
Adjusted cockpit slightly (literally only moved the wing fold lever up to make it easier to access)
Made a new background for the post
(Yes, my posts have been excessively lazy in the past couple days)
Also have a Tom Hudner version I don't plan on posting because the only real differences are the number on the front of the fuselage and the tail number under the elevator
To get Tom Hudner's Corsair, change all instances of "203" to "205" (on the wing, engine cowl, and tip of the tail) and the number "97231" on the tail to "82050"
