Despite its slow speed, its low cost and the lack of a human pilot inside ensures it can accomplish dangerous tasks without endangering a human pilot. Its first action in Snowstone Island proved that while the engine was not sufficiently reliable in the cold, it had great potential. These drones provided valuable as forward air controllers, able to loiter over the battlefield longer than the attack aircraft it commits. It was also the first unmanned aircraft to engage a manned aircraft; an armed Finch engaged a Silbervogel with a Guardian missile. The Silbervogel fired two at the drone. The Guardian missile went for the exhaust of one of the missiles, casuing it to miss the Silbervogel. The second missile fired destroyed the aircraft.
