This is by far the best airplane I have built so far. The overclocked VTOL engine is from the BRPX-104D Obliterator (Shadow Squadron) built by BaconRoll. AG-1 for the rocket pack, AG-2 drop-tank release, AG-7 emergency-release all missiles.
History:
The Mikoyan-Gurevich SM-12PMU was the sixth and final version of the SM-12 series of experimental interceptors. Because the SM-12PMU was designed to intercept high-altitude bombers faster than any other aircraft, it used the same twin R3-26 engines as used on the SM-12PM, and a slightly improved U-19D rocket engine pack from the SM-50. To avoid the rocket pack’s flame, two vertical strake-fins were placed under main engines. The two wing root mounted 30mm NR-30 cannon were removed and two or four RS-2U missiles were carried under the wings. These new missiles were guided by an RP-21 (TsD-30) interception radar in the enlarged nose intake cone. Two supersonic drop-tanks were carried below the main wing fence. Even though it was tested successfully, and exhibited good flight qualities and insane climb rate, the Mikoyan-Gurevich SM-12PMU remained one of the many advanced prototypes that led to the MiG-21 and other types.
