The Soko J-22 Orao / IAR-93 Vultur was a double-engine multirole jet aircraft, developed in the 1970s by Yugoslavia and Romania to become more independent from Soviet equipment. The subsonic plane was primarily designed for close support.
Serbia still operates about 30 of these planes.
Cruising speed (at 80% throttle): 900 kph, top speed with afterburners: just short of Mach 1.
This is the Yugoslav ground attack version armed with two short range air-surface missiles, 28 unguided rockets, one bomb and two double barreled 23mm guns.
