F/A-18 Strike Fighter
F/A-18 fighter-attack aircraft is a multi-purpose carrier-based fighter [1] with a single-seat/tandem two-seat swept wing aerodynamic layout and two turbofan engines installed. It is the first model of the U.S. military with both fighter and attack aircraft status [1][2], and has excellent air, ground and sea attack capabilities. As the most important carrier-based aircraft of the U.S. Navy, it has a wide range of uses, which can be used for both sea air defense and ground attack [1]. The F/A-18 combat attack aircraft was developed by McDonnell Douglas Company (now Boeing /Boeing) of the United States. The prototype first flew on June 9, 1974, and entered the service of the U.S. Navy in 1983. After the F-14 fighter was retired on July 28, 2006, the aircraft continued to serve as a carrier-based fighter on an American aircraft carrier
