Modernized Maus Tank
I made this design over a few days while bored in school. If anyone wanted to modify this to have Maus-like tracks (like the Tracks 2 mod), feel free to make a successor! Photo I based it off of.
Description:
A Maus tank, but with a modern tank look.
Armament:
1x 128mm MKwK 45 (AG8)
1x 75mm KwK 44 (AG8)
2x .50Cal M2HB (AG3, 4)
Grouping:
1 - Engine (Left Track - VTOL, Right Track - Trim)
2 - Turret (Horizontal - VTOL, Vertical - Trim)
3 - MG (Same controls as Turret)
4 - CROWS MG (Same controls as Turret)
5 - Front Lights
6 - Brake Lights
7 - Reverse Lights
Flares - “Smoke Grenades”
Fictional History:
There were multiple requests for companies to make a WWII era tank with modern equipment , with the Maus, a prototype design, being one of the leads. So, after many years of development, a Maus with depleted uranium armor (halved in thickness, naturally), a smoothbore 128mm cannon, a much more powerful engine, and multiple MGs around it was released to the public. Popular amongst buyers, this heavy beast can tank (pun not intended) shells thrown at it, with explosive reactive armor to help with protection in flatter areas.
Notes of the Vehicle:
This tank isn’t the most usable, with the shells only being worth 1 bullet of damage, but I thought it would be cool to make a WWII tank with a modern look, especially since this vehicle didn’t really live out its potential as a vehicle (even though the Russians deemed it useless).

@Liensis Possibly, it's certainly crossed my mind before
Would you be interested in redoing it using the new Cannon part?
@Flash0of0green Ok, I understand. I am just more into advanced methods of weaponry sometimes.
@Jim1the1Squid real tanks have a limited ammunition to but i understand the hole not wanting to use a bomb gun do to the fact. they do have there down sides. difficult ranging, increased wait, build complicity, added part count, those are just to name a few. however the bomb gun method is the one used by most of the higher ranked players. its all up to you if you want to go with bomb guns or no but i would still suggest using them over the modified gun method.
@Jim1the1Squid Agreed. As realistic as bomb-Guns are, if they only have like 8 rounds of ammunition (unlike modern tanks with upwards of a few dozen max), it does set a real limitation on the design.
@Flash0of0green one thing I noticed is that bomb guns only have very limited ammunition. I would go with a machine gun that's modified to fit the set standard.
The Panzerkampfwagen Maus VIII is my all-time favorite tank.
MAUS MEMES INTENSIFIES
Cool! I’ll look forward to it 👍@Thelegitpilot13
@Natedog120705 I’ve noticed that pretty recently. I’ll do it whenever I get more free time.
You should man! This community is really nice people would like them! @Thelegitpilot13
@Natedog120705 thanks! I have a lot of drawings from 2 years ago of this in much better detail. I might post them, but maybe not right now.
Honestly, this is really cool. The Maus is one of my favorite tanks from history, and it’s just awesome.
@Flash0of0green Thanks for the idea, might try that sometime!
@Thelegitpilot13 if you check out my more resent tanks Ive incorporated the bomb gun idea. all you really need is a MXL molded de-teacher (which work on mobile). you could just pull one off of y tanks save it and use it on your builds.
@Flash0of0green That is very true. Tanks nowadays favor mobility much more over protection, especially since we’ve found new ways to protect the tank and cut down the weight cost greatly (I.e. the M1 weighing about the same weight as a Tiger II, but have much more protection and armament). It was more of a fantasy kind of idea, not actually to be put in the real world, and especially not for conflict. Would this work IRL, in a desert or in the tundra, or even on roads that could maybe support it without breaking? No, and it’s not supposed to be. It’s just a fun idea and build I had when bored in class. After all, people make crazier things on here. But I do get what you mean.
As for firing bombs, I’m not sure how to do that since I can’t really modify parts like that. A cool idea though, thanks!
as a tank its design would make it a unmovable brick. the idea of the Maus tank was it would be a mobile steal bunker, IE a contraindication that worked for WW1. however the Maus wasn't mobile and the worst thing you can do on a battle field is stand still. that's only one reason the Maus failed as a tank I'm not mentioning its counters, its size problems, or operational problems. all sad I'm a big fan of tanks including this one i just have problems with how people don't consider reality when trying to give bad tank designs a chance. its a good build Thelegitpilot13 though you should change the main gun so it fires 200mm bombs. by my experience they work a hole lot better then a scaled up wing gun.
