About Ty-154
The Tu-154 was designed in 1966 to replace the Tu-104 and Il-18 passenger planes of the former Soviet Civil Aviation. In early 1968, ground sliding tests were conducted at the Zhukovsky factory near Moscow, and the first test flight was conducted on October 14, 1968. A total of 6 prototypes and pre production aircraft were used for flight testing, and the 7th aircraft was delivered to the Civil Aviation Administration of the former Soviet Union for use. In 1971, the first Tu-154 received by the civil aviation of the former Soviet Union was used for preliminary verification flight and crew training flight. In May 1971, mail and cargo transportation began. In July 1971, passenger flights on the Moscow Tbilisi route began. On February 9, 1972, flight on the Moscow North Caucasus Mineralnye Vody route began. On August 1, the same year, flight on the Moscow Prague International flight began.
Figure-154 The basic layout of three engines and "T" tail wings installed at the tail of the fuselage is similar to that of Boeing 727. Figure 154 has a stable structure, high thrust, good takeoff performance, and can take off from uneven runways. It has 14 large low-pressure tires that allow it to land on snowy and uneven runways. For passengers accustomed to Boeing aircraft, the cabin of Figure 154 seems relatively narrow. This is because the interior of the cabin section is elliptical and the ceiling is lower than that of typical Western developed aircraft. The cabin door in Figure 154 is also smaller than similar Western models, and the position of the luggage rack on the cabin top is also very limited.
As of the shutdown in 2006, 935 Tu-154 models had been produced, including approximately 325 Tu-154M models.
At the end of 2002, the Tu-154 aircraft officially withdrew from Civil Aviation of China.
On October 29, 2020, Alrosa Airlines' Tu-154 aircraft underwent its last commercial flight, marking the retirement of all Tu-154 aircraft in Russia and their withdrawal from commercial aviation operations
