This interceptor, one of two designs by CAC, was created to respond to the threat of the Hudson Hawk Mk.I, a deadly new enemy. With help from the Soviet Union, CAC created the P.1954 Types I and II (known in the USSR as the Ye-82 and Ye-84/ Su-83 and Su-20). It is armed with two ADEN 30mm cannons and two NR-23O cannons as well. It also has two AA-9 Kangaroo license missiles.
