AM GENERAL HMMWV M1025 (Humvee) Desert Storm
High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV).
In 1979, the Pentagon announced a competition for a "high-mobility multipurpose wheeled vehicle," with Chrysler Defense, the Lamborghini Cheetah buggy, and AM General with its XM966 all-terrain vehicle prototype participating with their own prototypes. After testing, on March 22, 1983, a contract was signed with AM General for the production of 54,973 vehicles. The Humvee saw widespread use in the Gulf War of 1991, where it navigated the desert terrain; this usage helped to inspire civilian Hummer versions. The vehicle's original unarmored design was later seen to be inadequate, and was found to be particularly vulnerable to improvised explosive devices in the Iraq War.

" i made a brick that barely does highway speed and sucks gas like you wouldn't believe, has about enough horsepower to pull a lego car, but it goes off road"
Us military: "Give me all of them"
