History: In 1959, North American designed an "improved" variant of the F-82 Twin Mustang. The new aircraft was equipped with even more guns and a total of four hardpoints (two on each wing). Thevaircraft nessecitated a crew of two, consisting of a pilot and a weapons officer. It was much slower than the F-82, but it had a longer range and a slightly better radar system. The total amount of guns added up to fifteen .50 caliber machine guns. The last F-83 was pulled from active service from the Israeli Air Force in 2003.
