Los Angeles Class Submarine (Flight 3)
688i Class Submarine
Users: United States Navy
Built: 1972-1996
In Commission: 1976-Present
The Current backbone of the U.S. Navy's submarine force, the Los Angeles class submarine was developed as a successor to the Sturgeon Class built during the 1960s. Incorporating improved quieting and a larger propulsion than previous vessels. They were introduced during the Cold war, where they were produced at a quick pace of around three to five anually.
Twelve Los Angeles Class submarines were equipped with a vertical launch missile system carrying 12 launch tubes, allowing the deployment of cruise missiles for anti-ship and land attack purposes.
The Last 23 constructed were built as the 'Improved 688 class' incorporating improved quieting, combat systems, moving the diving planes to the bow, and strengthening the sail for breaking through ice. The improved 688 classes also come with VLS tubes for launching cruise missiles.
Despite the introduction of a successor in the form of the Virginia Class, the Los Angeles remains as a capable addition to the US submarine fleet, likely to serve its navy well into the future.

There we go the Los Angeles Class Flight 3. I didn't name it since submarines of the class don't really have much that visually differentiates them. This was quite a bit of trouble, I wasn't able to get its ballast systems working quite the way I hoped. It does still work in moving underwater and deploying weapons though, so I hope you enjoy!
Hopefully in the future I'll be able to deal with the issues of buoyancy adding my custom torpedoes brought here.

Can you Please make a new la class submarine? Im a big fan of subs
@MintLynx ok thanks you so much
@Culydeath Yea that figures as much, some of my rocket based weaponry tends to go a bit nuts when slamming into the water. As for the Arleigh I'll consider doing one, since I am opening up to ships.
@MintLynx btw
This submarine is fun xD
And
Can you make for me the arleigh burke please
Im using 1.8 :((
If you can't make it , it's ok
I'm sorry for my request :((
@MintLynx went it goes underwater
It glitch xD
@Culydeath Unexpected malfunctions?
The missiles
It's make me laugh
@MintLynx ok thx
@UFNNICF5TF I could do that at some point soon. Might go for a bit more detail on it given the overall body shape is so simple.
pls build a fight I los angles
@Parshainaerospace
Ok. I need to go now, I'll see you later.
@Parshainaerospace
Just say you are building them under licence, that should be good enough.
@Parshainaerospace
Hang on, the Los Angeles-class is being phased out of US service. You might want to upgrade to the Virginia-class.
@Parshainaerospace
You might want to boost the sensor systems, but otherwise it is a decent submarine.
@Parshainaerospace
Looks like a good choice.
@MintLynx amazing, as always!
@MarinoYeet No problem!
@MintLynx thx for making this!
@MarinoYeet
Los Angeles, my dream city
@Imashovel Nowhere near as nice as I was hoping, I'd suggest not surface running too much in this thing, it's not as graceful on the surface as my other boats. The torpedoes and Harpoons work well though! (at least I hope they will)
