The Gotha G.IV was a heavy bomber used by the German military from 1916 to 1918, and was one of the most successful aircraft of World War I. These bombers flew in the first blitz, and while they did little damage, they had a profound effect on morale, as well as resource management. It had a crew of 3, and could carry up to 1100 lbs of bombs. Its maximum speed was 87mph at 12,000 feet, and its service ceiling was 21,000 feet. In 22 raids, a total of 61 Gothas were destroyed. 37 were lost to accidents, and 24 to enemy fire.
