Lockheed P-38L Lightning (V1.2 by fireyoshiqc)
Modified flight surfaces to allow for easier control and better maneuverability. Controls become jerky at high speeds (350+ mph), be cautious.
Specs:
- Twin 1750HP turboprop engines with counter-rotating triple-blade props
- 1118 gallons of fuel capacity
- 4 x front-mounted wing guns + 2 x 500 lb dumb bombs
- "Tricycle" landing gear configuration
- Roughly 1:1.2 scale (because of part sizes)
- Mostly based on the P-38L Lightning
It's a little lighter than the real thing and has more powerful engines, otherwise it just wouldn't fly well for some reason (I guess the wings are not well balanced, might fix that). The front pod configuration was a real pain, as the middle wings kept getting unsnapped from the pod (they would just wobble on either the engine pylon or the pod). It's a fairly accurate replica, except for the front 20mm cannon which is sadly absent from the game. I used a neat little trick with some panels (without wing physics) to hook the wing guns to the front pod, for anyone wondering.

@fireyoshiqc ok.
@bjac0 Well it's the same plane :P
But I made it completely from scratch I swear (otherwise it would have been posted as a variation of yours)
@Ctracerx2 @fireyoshiqc it looks so much like my p-38G! dayum. gonna have to do some investigation...
@pizzawizard26 It's not a mod, it's included in the freshly released PC version of SimplePlanes
how did you download the bomb mod?
