In 1982, with tensions mounting between neighboring countries P.A. Pondia and O.B. Pondia, the possibility of war was no far fetched thought. the OPMOD(O.B. Pondian Ministry of Defense), realizing their aerial fleet consisted of woefully outdated airframes, announced the funding for the creation of a new aircraft, one that could deliver devastating firepower against ground targets while simultaneously excelling in air to air combat. Developed and produced by Loebarry Aviation in 1983, The aircraft designed would be given the name, “F/A-92 Harpy”. While early stage prototypes proved to be troublesome, its development later managed to get a foothold after new innovations in aerospace technology. The F/A-92 Harpy was a highly versatile aircraft, being able to combat both air and ground targets simultaneously. It sported a compact and sleek airframe, a top speed of Mach 1.5, and could pull up to 20 G-force turns, granting it exceptional maneuverability on the battlefield. Its armament was highly versatile, as it could be armed with MK-81 bombs, AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles, and various other weapons. Out of 780 aircraft produced(from 1983-1991), 712 were used by the OBAF(O.B. Pondian Air Force), while the remaining 68 were sold as export variants to countries such as South Africa, Israel, and Lithuania. When the 2nd Pondian War finally broke out in 1985, the PAAF(P.A. Pondian Air Force) were completely caught off guard by the exceptional performance of the F/A-92. On average, the aircraft had a kill ratio of 6:1. In one instance, a squadron of four Harpys engaged a force of 12 PAAF fighter aircraft. All four Harpys safely made it back to base and left all 12 of their adversaries burning on the ground. Out of the 522 Harpys used during the war, only 15 were lost by the end of the war in 1986, with 6 being from friendly fire incidents.
