Designation: F-27 Scorpion

Nickname: Desert Viper

Brief Lore:
  • A fictional jet fighter belonging to the 27th series of aircraft developed for combat purposes. The name "Scorpion" represents its lethal nature and agility, similar to the quick and deadly strikes of a scorpion.

  • The nickname "Desert Viper" reflects its desert scheme camouflage used on the first variant to enter active service The F-27C and conveys the aircraft's sleek design, advanced capabilities, and deadly nature in combat.

Instructions:

F-27D Cockpit - Mid Development

AG1: Open/ Close Canopy
AG2: Jettison Drop Tanks
AG3: Warning Lights
AG4: NAV Lights
AG5: Cockpit Lights
AG6: Arresting Hook (Also Jettisons All Secondary Weapons And Drop Tanks)
AG7: Drouge Chute
AG8: Toggle HUD

Start Up:
Toggle the "Battery" switch to ON. Controls surfaces, gears and lights are now operational.
Wait 3 seconds, then toggle the "Start" switch to ON. You'll hear the engine power on.
For Taxi mode leave the "Engine" switch as is. For full power toggle the switch to ON.
(Optional) Toggle ON "Flight Controls" switch to test the flight controls prior to take-off.

Additional Information: To toggle the engine limiter, set the "Engine" switch to "Taxi" (Off), then set the "Eng. Limiter" switch to ON. This limits the aircraft speed to 197 mph for carrier landings and aerial refueling. The Gyroscope can also be used during refueling and carrier landings (Switch located on the right-hand side of the cockpit).

Refueling

Note that when below 275 mph the nose mounted canards engage automatically to help with maneuverability at lower speeds. When above 275 mph they will deactivate, to prevent unwanted pitch, manually toggle the "Nose Mounted Canards" switch and toggle them off again, unless you'd prefer the control them at these increased speeds.

Carrier Landings:
When approaching the carrier, activate the airbrakes using the button on the right-hand side of the cockpit, toggle the engine limiter (refer to additional information above) and the arresting hook, then lower the landing gear.
Set trim and flaps to max as shown below.

Carrier Landing

- 2 x FL-12 Short to Medium Range Air-to-Air Fox One

< Current systems allow for the Scorpion to equip up to 12 weapons in total to be mounted on its hardpoints whenever not carrying external fuel tanks. All compatible weapons will be made available once the Ground Attack C variant has been uploaded. >
