F/A-28D Atomicbolt
STORY STUFF (no, this plane is not actually real) towards the end of the second World War, the americans gained access to a number of classified German documents, including concept jet and rocket fighters and more. The Early Rocket Fighter program was started in 1946, with the goal to create multiple new jet fighters to supply the USAAF with. it wasn’t until 1953 that one of these designs came to frution. The F-28 Firebolt air superiority fighter. The fighter was doomed from the start, however, and lacked a powerful enough engine and flight was unstable. the F-28B improved on the earlier design, swapping the 2 miniguns for Cannons. these were prone to, well, blowing the entire plane up in midair. But the USAF drafted a plan to modify the Existing F-28A’s into a new aircraft, the F/A-28. (it had the fighter designation, however it was rarely used in it’s fighter configuration). ARMAMENT/PERFORMANCE: The F/A-28D Atomicbolt carries 6 Air to ground (AGM) missiles, and 2 250 pound bombs. in accordance to the root of it’s nickname, however, it can carry a powerful Atomic bomb in addition to AGM’s. it’s also capable of carrying AAM’s. its configured with 2 powerful cannons with 2,000 ammo in total, and they don’t F-11 the plane this time.
