XM1210 Light Reconnaissance Vehicle
Pitch and Roll steer. VTOL and Trim lay weapons. (1) activates main weapons. (2) activates commander's MG. The XM1210 Light Reconnaissance Vehicle is a Paternian 6x6 armored car manufactured by Dragon Industries, designed for reconnaissance, flank protection, and fire support. It was one of three entries in a competition held by the Paternian Army to replace the M9 Sighthound in the 1960's. It is unique for its high speed and skid steering system, giving it exceptional maneuverability equal to that of tracked vehicles while retaining the excellent strategic and operational benefits of wheeled vehicles. It lost out to the Bandit M1115 Commando, due to the latter's superior modularity. This particular vehicle is fitted with a standard Light Weapons turret, although it can accept any standard Light/Medium Weapons Turrets.

@Pilotmario :)
@F104Deathtrap And thanks!
@F104Deathtrap That is true. The bribery scandals definitely blemished a fantastic jet. Still, I think the F-104 is a decent jet that was unscrupulously marketed for roles which it has no business in.
I should mention that the Paternian Air Force (the guys which this machine was attempted to be sold to) employed them with success in air combat. Accident rates were rather low, although this is attributed to the fact they were never used for ground strike missions and were almost always flown by reservists, who were more experienced. They were fairly successful in operations against the ISFOS in Australia, flying from New Zealand bases, refuelled extensively, and savaging subsonic jets which really stood no chance.
Ironically, it was because of operations in Australia that it was replaced. The F-4 Phantom II, despite small numbers employed, proved to be instrumental in the coalition victory. The high performance, heavy weapon load, and advanced avionics basically made it the ideal aircraft to shatter air defenses and wipe out their air force on the ground overnight. The effectiveness was such that the rest of the ISFOS air force was too scared to fly.
So that's the story of the F-104 in Paternian service. It was good, but the Phantom was miles above it.
Heyyyyy, you might have missed the part where everyone decided it was a bad idea to keep arguing. So, here I am on one of your posts from a month ago where no one will find us! I have a few things I'd like to respond to, so heeere we go. 1) I agree with you about nuclear bombing being obsolete by the end of the 50's and said as much a few times back there. 2) The F-104 was a FANTASTIC testbed for future technology that never should have seen mass production. The very concept of a DOWNWARD firing ejection seat, wings that don't provide enough lift without air bled off the compressor, and a tail that gets completely blanked when you try to turn... I don't know where to begin. At the time it was designed, the USAF were willing to make sacrifices for speed. The F104 offered levels of performance head and shoulders above anything else in the air. It really was like a spaceship. But it was also horribly unreliable, and I'm not just talking about people ignoring the stick kicker! Inlet failures, afterburner failures, engine fires, poor handling characteristics. You name it, she had it. And as for the Germans using it for the wriong role, they didn't exactly hold a gun to Lockheed demanding they change the role. Lockheed assured them the Starfighter could do the job, bribed German officials, and sold them a plane that was dangerous on a sunny day to fly low level all-weather missions. DO NOT GET ME WRONG: the Starfighter was a milestone of aviation, certainly ahead of its time, but so was the X-15. Eventually, after many revisions, the F104 served in Spain where it was used in its proper role by people well aware of its limitations in exceptionally lovely weather. I do not think the 104 was a bad plane, I think Kelly Johnson was a genius, but I also think the executives who tried to shoe horn it into places it didn't belong are criminals. Also, cool LRV. :)
Awesome!
@Pilotmario Oh, makes sense!
I'll take them. We aren't really interested in the Commando.
@TemDesBur It never saw service with the Paternian Army, but there were some export customers.
@Pilotmario Quite carefully polished for a war vehicle.
@TemDesBur Polish?
Why are the tires shiny?
@JakeTheDogg thanks mah dogg you boss!
@Pilotmario someone called 0001 he told mi get out that he wanted to test something, i said "ok" and i exit the server with no clue how to get in again...
@Dynamicneedle Who did that?
@Pilotmario sorry for off-topic but it has to be with the C&C RolePlay some one toldme to exit the server andi had no clue how to get in it again
@Dynamicneedle Ah thanks!
oh, good grace this is incredible!, btw i was looking for you the whole day mah mein
