TailProp 5.0

948 TooniisAerospace  8.6 years ago

This is the 5th version of my TailProp! It is a Push Propeller Plane that cruises at 400+ mph.
Push Propeller Planes usually have the performance of a Jet with the effciency of a Prop.

Check out Version 6.0! it's a LOT better than this one!
Version 6.0 Link: https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/w3h4RU/TailProp-6-0
Controls:
Activate 1 and use VTOL slider to control flaps.
Activate 2 and use VTOL slider to control the vertical stabilizer (not to be confused with elevators)

Speed list:
V1 (minimum takeoff speed): 170 mph
V2 (minimum speed to set flaps to 0): 200 mph
Cruise Speed: 400-450 mph
Touchdown speed: 150-140

NEVER PITCH UP (ROTATE) BEFORE V1 OR THE PLANE MIGHT STALL!

Takeoff instructions:
1-Set flaps to half
2-Set the vertical stabilizer right under 0.
3-Set throttle to 100% and when you reach V1 pitch up.
4-When you reach V2 set flaps to 0.

Landing instructions:
1-Align with the runway and make sure you are far from it.
2-Set throttle to 50%
3-Set flaps to full.
4-Activate 2 and manually control the vertical stabilizer till you find the spot where the plane doesn't pitch.
5-Right before touchdown, pitch the plane up a bit for a smoother landing.
6-Use full brakes to stop the plane.

This plane cannot be used for traning because it is kinda hard to fly. And keep in your mind that this plane flies like a jet so fly it the way you fly jets.

@ccooper the rotator rotates the vertical stabiliser.
I made a new version with a bigger Propeller, and that increased the acceleration and speed a lot.

@ccooper the mirroring issue is because the cockpit block inside the nose is not exactly in the center and i didnt put it in the center so when you go to cockpit view you will get a better view of the outside.
when you want to mirror something, add a cockpit and put it any where but it must be in the exact center of the plane, then set it to isPrimary, them mirror, and finally set the main cockpit block inside the nose to isPrimary and remove the cockpit you added.

@ccooper yes i did, but its kinda different, because the tail is behind the propeller, while in my plane, the propeller is behind the tail. And i focused on making my plane fly as smooth as possible, while in sport and fighter planes smoothness doesn't matter.

@ccooper Also read the takeoff and landing instructions b4 you try to fly it again.

@ccooper did you try using the vertical stabilizer as written in the description?
its done by activating 2 and sliding the VTOL slider down right under center, then the pitching will stop. it works great when you do that, plus this plane is a bit hard , so if you arent advanced in flying commecial and business planes you cand fly this. and keep in your mind that this plane acts like a jet so fly it the way you fly jets.
