Curtiss P-6A Hawk
Curtiss P-6A
Biplane fighter aircraft.
see [Curtiss P-6E for another significant variant (public)].
Painted in Carmen Dei livery.
Overview
The Curtiss P-6A Hawk is a development of the XP-2, which is derived from the earlier P-1 fighter.
Different air forces recieved 70 operational aircraft and one prototype and operated them until 1942.
Only one aircraft survived and is on display.
Building process
The fuselage is redesigned due to the deeper fuselage and the wings are still the same, taken from earlier Hawks as a sub-assembly in-game.
Cockpit slightly derived from the real one.
There are no braces in the wings, this should be added in the E variant.
In-game specifications
Maximum speed: 298 km/h TAS at sea level
Cruise speed: 226 km/h TAS at sea level
Climb rate: 7 ms at cruise at 10° pitch up
Armament: 2x machine gun
Notes
The USAAF has a survived Curtiss (Curtis-Wright as of that time) P-6 on the inventory.
