FI-02 Butterfly
The FI-02 Butterfly is the upgraded version of the Eagle II Fighter Interceptor that was designed by both Imperial Industries and SilverWing Manufactures.
Its most notable feature, the monowing design, is the result of a thought by the CEO of Imperial Industries, Aetir Magenos. The design itself features the control surfaces essentially taking the entire width and length of the wing, thus creating a butterfly like look to it, hence the name "Papillio Cornu" or Butterfly Wing.
The Butterfly has its hold center-lined, as there is no space on the wings, and has twin Vulcan G4-Ds. It can carry almost anything that fits.
The Butterfly's performance, though unstable, is a great dogfighter, for the giant control surfaces allow enough air to hit them and therefore push them in the direction the pilot wants. Though, as an interceptor, it isn't the fastest. If managed well, the FI-02 Butterfly can reach speeds of around 600 to 700 km/h with a short take off speed. So short, you could take it off of a carrier without the need of the catapult.
The FI-02 Butterfly was created upon the wishes of the Grandmaster of the Knight's Black Eagle, and patron saint, St.Sabre, after the Great Rebellion. The Eagle II's performance during that war was satisfactory, however technology has developed greatly since then, and the Eagle II is now considered obsolete. While that has never stopped the Black Eagles before, having the technological advantage for once would allow the Wing knights to 'relax a bit' as he said.
So, St.Sabre called upon Imperial Industries to improve upon the Eagle II's design, and with a few thousand nye, they accepted the commission and so birthed the Butterfly. SilverWing Manufactures also took part, designing the fuselage itself as it was likely that Imperial Industries would end up making another Imperial Fighter look alike.
