The Lavochkin La-3 fighter was a single-seat, single-shot piston fighter produced and used by the Soviet Union during World War II. Together with the Yak-1 of Yakovlev design Bureau and the MIG-3 of Migojan Design Bureau, the Rag-3 gradually replaced the old I-153 and I-16 as the main combat aircraft of the Red Army Air Force fighter units after the outbreak of the war.
