Its low cost, ease of maintenance, modular systems, and planned upgrades make it perfect for the widely varied air guards that make up the MAF. Able to quickly flow from one role to the next, the Katar is the backbone of the MAF, forming a common base among most air guards and supplementing larger, more complex crafts. Katars are used in roles such as interceptor, SEAD, strike, reconnaissance, air superiority, and limited exposure as an anti-shipping platform.
