History: In 1983, BaE (British Aerospace Engineering) designed a small, nimble, lightweight, and cheap multirole aircraft for service in the RAF, RAAF, RNZAF, and RNAF. The first aircraft were delivered to the RAF in 1986, the RAAF in 1988, the RNZAF in 1990, and the RNAF in 1992. The RAF, RAAF, and RNZAF pulled their aircraft out of service by 2001 but the RNAF still uses theirs as air show aircraft, museum displays, and as trainers for their bigger and more advanced aircraft.
