this was the most state-of-the art prop fighter developed by Mikoyan-Gurevich, this was part of a series of aircraft that were developed to create a high-altitude version of the MiG-3, the Mig-7 was the fastest prop during WWII developed by the Soviets, (762kph) but the honor wasn't given to the MiG-7 but the honor was given to Yakolev Yak-3M
