The Boeing 737-800 is a twin-engine turbofan medium and short range narrow body passenger aircraft designed and produced by Boeing, belonging to the Boeing 737NG series. It is an elongated fuselage of the Boeing 737-700 aircraft, replacing the Boeing 737-400 and filling the gap left after the retirement of the MD-80 and MD-90. The dashboard of the Boeing 737-800 cockpit uses a new type of large display screen, with the option of adding wingtip winglets to the wings.On September 5, 1994, the Boeing 737-800 project officially launched and made its first flight on July 31, 1997. "On March 13, 1998, we obtained the FAA type certificate, and on April 9, we obtained the European Joint Aviation Authority type certificate. On April 22, the first 737-800 was delivered to the customer."
